The unit, situated at Nemuwa, Sunsari in the Morang-Sunsari industrial corridor started with the manufacturing of G.I. wires in the year 1985 and now has a production capacity of 40000 MT per annum. It is involved in manufacturing, marketing and distribution of value-added iron and steel products for domestic as well as export market, to designing and fabricating products to meet specific requirements for various infrastructure projects. It is Nepal´s market leader manufacturing having the widest range of wire products which includes GI Wires, ACSR Core Wire, Ribbed Wires, Prestressed Concrete Wires, Spring Wires, Wire Nails, Barbed Wires, Machine Made Gabions and ACSR Conductors. Pioneer is the leading supplier to the Nepal Government’s infrastructure projects as well as numerous other project runs by INGOs and NGOs such as Red Cross, DANIDA. Pioneer has been the first steel company in Nepal that was awarded with the NS (Nepal Standard Mark) equivalent to the ISI Mark of Show more India for its GI Wires. NS (Nepal Standard) mark is conferred by Nepal Bureau of Standards and Meteorology, the regulatory authority under Nepal’s Government that looks after the quality of products manufactured in the country. For its ACSR Core Wire, it has been awarded with the ISI mark as per IS 398 Part II, again the first company in Nepal to get this certification. The company has also acquired the ISO 9001 (2000 Edition).The iron and steel segment is technology driven, and hence Pioneer has incorporated a high level of automation and state-of-the-art technology into its activities. The ability to produce a wide product mix is a core competence and this has helped Pioneer achieve a major market share in the high-value added iron and steel segment.
